Prince of Genovia
I, Liam James Payne, am the current prince of Genovia. In my country, we make decisions according to our feelings. We feel that because we only live once in this life, we should enjoy it to the fullest. That’s what my great-grandparents, who were kings themselves, believed, and we have the same beliefs. My country isn’t as developed as the nearby countries, even though it has better natural resources and a larger labour force. I wondered. I asked some of my spies to get me information about that matter. They came and said to me that in other countries, people work very hard compared to our country, and people there rarely get holidays. The food they consume is given to them by their king; no other means of food are allowed. I heard that and thought, “Man, that’s a tough life.” Imagine the king deciding what people should eat. My kingdom gives people choices to make. As I was thinking about this, I heard a huge noise from the palace’s entrance. My father came to the entrance, and one of the people came up in front and said, “Honorable King, we celebrated Pongal for the past five days, and we feel a bit lazy to come and work tomorrow.” “Many of our country’s people feel the same.” The speaker looked at the people. Everyone responded “Yes, King,” and the speaker continued, “As our country takes decisions according to people’s feelings, we would like to grant leave tomorrow, my king.” My father responded, “As you wish the people of Genovia.” The crowd started praising the king loudly. I observed the things that happened there, and I was like, “How are we going to develop our country if my father did stuff like this?” I know my country’s decisions are made based on feelings, but the reason was so invalid. I felt that ruling this country according to feelings, hinders Genovia’s development.
